Our Mission
Billify was created in 2025 with a simple but important mission: to give freelancers, independent contractors, and small business owners a truly free, professional invoicing tool — no hidden costs, no account walls, no watermarks. We believe that the ability to send a clean, professional invoice should not cost $20 per month.
The Problem We Solve
When we started freelancing ourselves, we were frustrated by the invoicing landscape. FreshBooks charges $19/month. QuickBooks starts at $30/month. Most "free" generators limit you to 3 invoices, slap watermarks on your PDFs, or require an account just to see a preview. For someone sending 5-10 invoices per month, spending $200-360 per year on what is essentially a PDF generator felt wrong. So we built Billify — a tool that does one thing exceptionally well: generate professional, clean, branded PDF invoices in under 60 seconds, with zero cost and zero friction.
How Billify Works — Privacy by Design
Billify is architected differently from every other invoicing tool on the market. It runs 100% client-side — meaning your invoice data never touches our servers. There is no backend, no database, no user accounts, and no analytics tracking your behavior. When you create an invoice on Billify, the PDF is generated entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your client names, amounts, and business details stay on your device. When you close the tab, nothing is transmitted anywhere. This is not just a privacy feature — it is the foundation of our architecture. This approach means our operating costs are minimal (just hosting static files), which is why we can offer Billify completely free, forever, without needing to monetize your data.
Who We Are
Billify is built by a small team of software developers and designers who have worked as freelancers and understand the day-to-day challenges of independent work. Our team brings experience in web development, UX design, and financial technology. We are based in Morocco and serve users worldwide. Our team combines technical expertise with real-world freelancing experience — we have personally dealt with late-paying clients, confusing tax requirements, and the frustration of bloated invoicing software. Billify is the tool we built for ourselves and decided to share with the world.
